DENVER: As failed gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake prepares to take the stage at the Colorado GOP’s Centennial Dinner tonight along with Congresswoman Lauren Boebert,’ ProgressNow Colorado, welcomed Lake to Colorado in the manner fitting “the most prominent 2022 candidate running on former President Donald Trump’s 2020 election lies.”

“It’s not surprising that a state party overrun by election-denying conspiracy theorists would invite someone like Kari Lake to speak at their annual banquet,” said ProgressNow Executive Director Sara Loflin. “But it should not go unnoticed that even with Lake on stage tonight, she will be only the second biggest election denier in Colorado next to Congresswoman Lauren Boebert.”

Boebert was in attendance the morning of Donald Trump’s Washington, DC rally before the January 6 attacks on the US Capitol, after which she voted to decertify the results of the 2020 presidential election. Boebert was also criticized for live-tweeting the whereabouts of Speaker Nancy Pelosi during the attack and helped incite the crowd with her statement that the vote counting on January 6 was “1776.”

“Since January 6, 2021, we have argued that Lauren Boebert should not be in Congress and should have resigned immediately after the attacks,” added Loflin. “Instead, Lauren Boebert remains proud to be the state’s foremost election denier.”
