DENVER: After Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo) failed to show up for a last night’s vote to avoid national default, ProgressNow Colorado, the state’s largest multi-issue progressive advocacy organization, issued the following statement:

“Lauren Boebert spent days and even weeks threatening to tank the global economy and demanding the hardline MAGA Republicans refuse to compromise to avoid a recession,” said ProgressNow Colorado executive director Sara Loflin. “But when it came time to vote – the actual job Boebert was elected to perform in Congress – Lauren Boebert couldn’t be bothered.”

“ProgressNow Colorado’s public polling released through the Rocky Mountaineer showed that voters in Boebert’s district already believe she puts partisan politics and self-promotion ahead of doing what’s right for the district,” added Loflin. “What last night’s no-show vote demonstrated is that Coloradans are right to doubt her, and if they want effective representation, they’ll need to look to someone else.”
