DENVER: As the U.S. House began its third day of dysfunction with Republicans unable to agree on who should lead their miniscule majority for the next two years, ProgressNow Colorado, the state’s largest multi-issue progressive advocacy organization, called for Boebert to apologize to the voters of the Third Congressional District for drawing them into yet another personal grandstand that ignores the pressing issues facing rural Colorado.

“Last November, voters sent a clear message to Lauren Boebert that they are sick and tired of Boebert’s self-serving media grandstands while real issues facing her constituents are ignored,” said ProgressNow Colorado executive director Sara Loflin. “Grinding Congress to a halt while voting against legislation to invest in her district and help her constituents is a recipe for political disaster for Boebert as well as a disaster for the Third Congressional District. When the dust settles, Boebert may have no friends on either side of the aisle–and it’s Boebert’s constituents who will pay the price.”

“Not even Sean Hannity and Donald Trump can get through to Lauren Boebert anymore,” said Loflin. “Boebert is completely off the rails, and listening to no one. After nearly losing her seat last November, Boebert had a chance to change course and put her constituents first. Now it’s clear that Boebert has no intention to ‘take the temperature down in Washington’ as she promised after narrowly winning re-election, instead focusing on literally elbowing her way into a camera shot.”
