DENVER: ProgressNow Colorado demands Ganahl immediately publicly reject threats made last Thursday night by extremists in her own party including claims of election fraud and rhetoric asserting Secretary of State Jena Griswold should be hanged for certifying a free and fair election.

“We call on Heidi Ganahl to immediately publicly condemn the threats made by violent extremists in her own party at the FEC United Town Hall in Castle Rock last Thursday night,” said ProgressNow Colorado Executive Director Sara Loflin. “It’s disgraceful that Ganahl is silent while leaders in her own party gather and call for a violent attack on Secretary of State Jena Griswold.”

According to reports, last Friday at an emergency meeting of a conservative group with a militia wing called FEC United, election denier Shawn Smith told the Douglas County crowd, “if you’re involved in election fraud, then you deserve to hang” in response to Griswold’s certification of the 2020 election.

There has been no proof of election fraud in the 2020 election. University of Colorado Regent and candidate for governor, Heidi Ganahl, continues to prove herself a hypocrite incapable of calling out far right-wing extremists in her party as they incite militia groups to acts of violence against elected officials.

“To show she is not a hypocrite, Heidi Ganahl needs to immediately and publicly condemn calls for violence,” Loflin said.

ProgressNow Colorado is the state’s largest multi-issue progressive advocacy organization.
