Tomorrow is Election Day! And if you haven’t already found your reason to fill out and return that ballot, I’ve got one important message for you: vote NO on Amendment 78.
If the COVID-19 pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that timely intervention to prevent disasters from worsening can literally mean the difference between life and death. Here in Colorado, Gov. Jared Polis has gotten high marks for his handling of the crisis, and in particular making sure that vital federal relief funds were speedily distributed.
If passed, Amendment 78 would greatly impede the ability of Colorado to quickly respond to disasters of all kinds. By forcing federal custodial funds to be debated by Colorado’s part-time legislature every time they’re allocated, Amendment 78 would hamstring emergency response efforts for no good reason. That’s why ProgressNow Colorado has joined with a coalition of responsible fiscal policy organizations to urge a NO vote on Amendment 78.
It’s not too late to do your part! Visit the Colorado Progressive Voters Guide now and get the facts about the statewide and local ballot measures as well as municipal and school board candidates across Colorado so you can cast an informed vote. Then, visit JustVoteColorado.org for more information on where to take your completed ballot, vote in person, or even register to vote and participate until polls close tomorrow at 7:00pm.
Once you’ve voted, here are a few more ways to make a difference for the week of November 1, 2021:

We are appalled by the fact that there are over 90 million Americans who are uninsured or underinsured, with a disproportionate amount of those folks being from marginalized communities. Rally with us in solidarity, as students and healthcare professionals, to let our representatives know we are not afraid to use our voices to advocate for healthcare as a right for all!
