DENVER: With the latest special congressional election too close to call for a seat long held by Republicans in Pennsylvania, ProgressNow Colorado, the state’s largest online progressive advocacy organization, released the following statement:

“Whatever the final result, the margin in Pennsylvania spells disaster for Republicans in Colorado,” said ProgressNow Colorado executive director Ian Silverii. “For years, Pennsylvania’s 18th District was held by Republicans, completely unopposed. The last time Democrats contested the seat they lost by 34 points. Tonight, a Democrat erased that history. For Mike Coffman, who held his seat in 2016 by less than 10 percent of the vote—or even Scott Tipton, who won by nearly 15 points—this represents a swing that could well end their political careers in November.”
