What you can do to fight back this week (December 11)

As we head into the holidays and the end of a very long year, I wanted to take a moment to say something once again that I’ve said each week as we’ve helped organize the resistance to Trump and the far right here in Colorado.

Thank you.

We say thanks so often it loses its meaning. Sometimes we even say it sarcastically. But the truth is, after Trump’s unexpected victory in the 2016 elections, so many of us who work full-time in progressive politics were questioning our professional lives and choices on a basic level. Did we do everything we could? Can we learn from the mistakes that brought us here? Does what we do matter?

And then the people responded. Hundreds of thousands of you in Colorado alone, from the Women’s March to this past weekend’s demonstrations in support of net neutrality. You stopped the repeal of the Affordable Care Act, fought back against the Trump and the GOP-controlled Congress at every step, and set the stage for historic accountability at the polls next year.

It’s because of you that there is hope going into 2018 despite everything that’s happened in the last year. The fight goes on as you can see below across the broad range of critical issues confronting our state and nation, but every day my confidence is growing that we will take this country back—and soon. And you’re the one I have to thank.

Here are ways to take action for the week of December 11th:

You deserve to have your voice heard and they say they are going to listen! Dr. Nita Mosby Tyler will facilitate two community meetings on December 11th about our community name.
