I wanted to share a note from Amanda, whose son is the star of a short video to promote full day kindergarten for every child in our state.

I love my kids, and I want all children to have an education that gives them the tools to fulfill their dreams. Oscar and I are proud to support legislation in the Colorado General Assembly to finally make full day kindergarten a reality for every student in Colorado.

As you can see in the video, full day kindergarten is a no-brainer for just about everyone you ask the question. The benefits of getting our kids on track educationally as early as possible are undeniable. This year, Colorado has a chance to do something great for our kids, and I hope we take it.

Sen. Andy Kerr of Lakewood is the sponsor of legislation (Senate Bill 33) to go to the ballot this year, asking voters to fund full day kindergarten for every Colorado student. Take a moment right now to share this video with your friends. Then, call Sen. Kerr at 303-866-4859 to thank him for introducing this bill, and let him know you’ve got his back.

Thanks. Taking a measure from the legislature to the voters is a long process, but this is a goal worth fighting for. We’ll be in touch with more ways to help as this proposal picks up speed.
