DENVER: As the Denver Post unveiled a new poll showing Cory Gardner falling behind Mark Udall in Colorado’s U.S. Senate race, ProgressNow Colorado, the state’s largest online progressive advocacy organization, offered the following statement:

“Cory Gardner is slipping in the polls because Colorado voters are learning what he really stands for,” said ProgressNow Colorado executive director Amy Runyon-Harms. “The Cory Gardner you see on television who supports green energy and birth control is not the politician we’ve known for years. Gardner’s attempts to ignore his far-right record to win a statewide election are failing, and his campaign has nowhere to go from here but down.”

“Washington D.C. big shots like Karl Rove have poured millions of dollars into Cory Gardner’s race, and still he is losing ground,” said Runyon-Harms. “The reason is simple: the people of Colorado can see right through Cory Gardner’s many deceptions. Gardner’s agenda of banning abortions, attacking health care reform, and rewarding campaign donors and corporate cronies is not what the people of Colorado want. Cory Gardner is out of lies, out of excuses, and almost out of time.”
