DENVER: Responding to news that 2012 presidential loser Mitt Romney is endorsing Rep. Mike Coffman in the Colorado CD-6 race, ProgressNow Colorado, the state’s largest online progressive advocacy organization, released the following statement:

“When Mike Coffman endorsed Texas Gov. Rick Perry over Mitt Romney in the 2012 presidential race, Coffman said it was because Rick Perry was closer to his hard-right ideological views,” said ProgressNow Colorado executive director Amy Runyon-Harms. “In fact, Coffman endorsed Rick Perry specifically because they agreed Social Security is ‘obviously’ a ‘Ponzi Scheme.'” [1]

“While Mitt Romney should have plenty advice for Mike Coffman about how he can ‘shake the Etch-a-Sketch’ on his record in order to get elected, people who depend on Social Security and voters in Colorado should know that Coffman is even further to the right than Romney,” said Runyon-Harms. “Colorado just can’t trust Mike Coffman.”
