DENVER: As Governor John Hickenlooper signed Senate Bill 252 into law today, which will increase the standard for renewable energy generation at large rural electricity associations, ProgressNow Colorado, the state’s largest online progressive advocacy organization, released the following statement:

“This renewable energy bill is another progressive win in a truly historic legislative session,” said ProgressNow Colorado executive director Amy Runyon-Harms. “We are so pleased that Gov. Hickenlooper did the right thing and signed this common-sense bill into law.  Not only will it improve the air and water quality in Colorado, which is something we can all get behind, but it will also create high-paying renewable energy jobs throughout our state.

“There’s no reason for anyone in Colorado to miss out on the benefits of clean, renewable energy,” said Runyon-Harms, “This is an important step in the right direction, and we thank Gov. Hickenlooper for not being misled by the intense misinformation campaign against this legislation.”
